Do I need a Tradovate or prop firm account to try Shifu?
No. Shifu ships with a built-in paper broker. Pick "Paper" when you connect your first account and start firing test alerts in 30 seconds. Real broker connections (Tradovate, ProjectX firms) light up once we're an authorized vendor with each.
What prop firms does Shifu support?
Native rule packs for Apex Trader Funding, TopstepX, MyFundedFutures, Bulenox, Tradeify, and FundedNext — every tier from $25K to $300K. When a firm changes a limit, we ship the update — you don't change anything on your end.
Which prop firms actually allow automated trading?
Most ProjectX-backed firms allow it on both eval and funded accounts: Apex, TopstepX, MyFundedFutures, Bulenox, Tradeify, FundedNext. Legacy Topstep and FTMO restrict automation on funded — those still work for paper, but we won't connect a live account where the rules say no. Always re-check your firm's current TOS before going live; rules shift.
How does the rule engine actually work?
Every alert runs through your firm's hard limits (daily loss, trailing drawdown, max contracts, allowed trading hours) before the order leaves Shifu. If the trade would break a rule you've set, it gets blocked and logged. If it's clean, it routes. Soft warnings (consistency, time-of-day) you can override per signal.
Can I run my strategy across more than one of my own accounts?
Yes. Each account you connect is handled on its own — its own size, its own rules, its own P&L — so one hitting a limit never touches the others. It's your strategy on your own accounts, never copied or coordinated between traders.
Will the prop firm see all my accounts coming from the same IP?
Yes — they're your accounts, so the firm sees them as yours. If several share Shifu's cloud IP, some firms' automated checks can flag the cluster for review even when nothing's wrong; our opt-in dedicated IP (coming with the v2 broker adapters) gives each account its own route — fewer false flags, often lower latency. Paper accounts don't need it.
How fast does an alert actually get through?
Alerts hit our edge in under 50 ms anywhere on Earth (Cloudflare in 300+ cities). Alert to broker fill: under 500 ms at the 95th percentile. We measure this on every signal and you can see it in your dashboard.
Are my broker credentials safe?
Yes. Your keys are encrypted before they touch our database — we couldn't read them even if we wanted to. We never log them in the clear. The dashboard treats them as write-only after you submit.
What happens to my open positions if I cancel?
Canceling stops new orders from routing — it never touches positions already open at your broker. Those stay exactly where they are, managed by you, in your broker platform. Shifu is the wire between your alert and your broker; pulling the wire doesn't close your trades.
What happens if Shifu has an outage mid-trade?
Alerts that arrive twice deduplicate automatically — your bot won't double-fire. We poll the broker every 30 seconds to reconcile state, so if a fill happens while we're recovering, we catch it on the next tick and show it on your dashboard.
What does it cost?
Beta is free — no card, and paper trading stays free for good. Pricing after beta will be simple and flat; we'll finalize it before we leave beta. Founding members lock in their beta rate for life, and Paradox Algo Pro Annual members get Shifu bundled at no extra cost.
How is your pricing this much lower than the rest of the category?
We don't tier-price the way most tools do — charging you more every time you add an account. We keep it one simple flat plan, and our lean architecture keeps costs low on both sides.
What happens when a webhook fails?
On Shifu: we retry on every failure, log every retry attempt with the response code, and surface the failure in the activity feed so you can see exactly what happened. You're never guessing at 3am whether a 502 ate your edge. The category typically swallows these silently — that "99.9% uptime" claim hides the 1-in-1000 alerts that just never get delivered.
