Shifu vs Lune
Looking for a Lune alternative? This is the honest comparison. Lune’s prices are from its own pricing page as read on September 15, 2026; the rest is from its docs and help pages as read on September 25, 2026. Company names belong to their owners.
Lune is a suite: an Auto Trader that runs any TradingView strategy in the cloud and routes one alert to multiple accounts, a mirroring product, a Trading Journal with an AI coach, and TradingView strategies and indicators, each priced as its own product and billed together on one subscription, with its risk controls and Cockpit terminal included on the products that connect to a broker and a prop-firm directory on its site. Shifu is one thing at one price — the router, the journal and Claude or ChatGPT control for $40 a month — on Tradovate, NinjaTrader and Rithmic accounts, and it enforces no limit on your account; the news shield holds entries only on the bots you opt in.
What Lune’s pages say
- Sold per product, monthly: Auto Trader $49, Trading Journal $39, the mirroring product $39, with strategies and indicators as further products (pricing page, September 15, 2026). Its docs (September 25, 2026) add that every product bills together on one subscription and that the journal comes at no extra cost with any two of its other paid products. A 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers.
- Connection-based products come with Starter broker connections — two connections with ten accounts each — plus the Cockpit trading terminal, risk controls (daily limits, position caps, kill switch, blackout windows) and real-time positions and P&L.
- Platforms listed: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic, ProjectX. Cloud execution, no VPS, no desktop required; one alert routes to multiple accounts simultaneously.

The same chart as on the pricing page; the Lune price is what its pricing page said on September 15, 2026, and its other cells are from its docs and help pages as read on September 25, 2026. “Not listed” means none of those pages said, not that the product lacks it.
What both do
- One TradingView alert routed to several accounts at once, from the cloud, with nothing running on your computer.
- A trade journal built from your fills — Lune’s as a $39/mo product (or included with two of its other paid products), Shifu’s inside the plan.
- Practice accounts alongside live ones, and prop-firm accounts on the rails each supports.
- Take-profit and stop orders that can sit at the broker. Lune places them as real broker orders in its Broker Native mode (new connections start in Lune Managed, where Lune watches price and sends the exit), and its Cockpit sets them in price, ticks, dollars or percent; Shifu places the take-profit, stop and trailing stop at Tradovate from the alert.
Where Lune is strong
- Breadth in one suite: the journal’s AI coach and analyst, a prop-firm directory that tracks individual firms, strategies and indicators, and a mirroring product — if you want those together, that is what Lune sells.
- Rails: ProjectX alongside NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Rithmic.
- Enforced risk controls — daily limits, position caps, a kill switch and blackout windows — for traders who want the platform to hold the line.
Where Shifu is different
- One price. The router, the journal and Claude or ChatGPT control are $40 a month together; at Lune’s list prices the Auto Trader and the journal alone are $88 a month.
- Take-profit, stop and trailing stop carried in the alert itself: Shifu documents take_profit, stop_loss, trail_distance and trail_trigger as alert fields. Lune’s alert message reference lists an action (entry, exit, add or partial exit) and a quantity, and its platform order types are market, limit and stop (its docs, read September 25, 2026).
- Shifu forwards and never decides: no daily limit, no kill switch, no account lock acting on your account; the news shield holds entries only on the bots you opt in. Lune includes those controls, blackout windows among them, with its broker-connected products; some traders want them.
- Claude or ChatGPT control of the tool (MCP), included. Lune’s docs place its AI in the journal (insights and a chat analyst) and in its indicators; an MCP server or control of the router by Claude or ChatGPT is not listed.
- Opt a bot in to the news shield and it holds new entries on red-folder days from Shifu’s published calendar; there are no times to enter. Lune’s News and event protection blocks new entries in blackout windows you enter yourself, weekly by day and time or once by date range, and can flatten open positions 1 to 120 minutes before a window starts; an economic calendar is not listed in its docs (read September 25, 2026).
Choose Lune if
- You want the whole suite — journal coach, strategies, indicators, prop-firm directory, mirroring — from one vendor.
- Your firm signs in over ProjectX.
- You want enforced daily limits and a kill switch rather than a router that only forwards.
Choose Shifu if
- You want routing, journal and AI control at one price, on Tradovate, NinjaTrader or Rithmic accounts.
- You want the take-profit, stop and trailing stop spelled out in the alert format, in the docs, before you connect an account.
- You want a router that never closes or locks anything on its own.
Questions people ask
Can I move a Lune alert to Shifu without rewriting it?
Paste the ready-made JSON message from the bot’s Setup tab into the TradingView alert and point the alert at your bot’s link; it takes about two minutes per alert. Shifu reads PickMyTrade and TradersPost messages, within the limits its docs name, and JSON that carries an action, a symbol and a time; Lune’s format is not one it lists.
Does Shifu have the AI coach Lune’s journal has?
No. Shifu’s journal writes itself from every fill with broker response time and slippage per trade, and Claude or ChatGPT can read it over MCP and answer questions about it; the coaching is whatever you ask the model. Lune sells a coach built in.
Which is cheaper?
For routing plus a journal, Shifu at $40/mo against Lune’s Auto Trader $49 plus journal $39 (the journal comes at no extra cost with any two of Lune’s other paid products). Figures from lunefi.com/pricing on September 15, 2026; theirs to change.
Does Shifu route to ProjectX or Rithmic?
Rithmic, yes: it is live. Not ProjectX today. Lune lists both.
